- The working title of the Hope for Joy anthology is: Dancing in the Rain and while the proceeds from the anthology will be donated to the ALS Society of Alberta, the stories are not limited to those who have experience with ALS.
- The theme is overcoming hardship or loss and finding hope, joy or inspiration from the experience, WHAT EVER that experience might be. We would consider all forms of loss, divorce, employment and terminal illness if the story meets the criteria of the guidelines.
- The stories may be uplifting and invigorating, but they may also invoke tears and sorrow, as finding hope or overcoming hardship do not always promise a happy ending. The goal is to create an anthology that is real and is worthy of reading; to do this requires a broad range of emotions and themes.
