We welcome stories of non-fiction between 500 and 2000 words in length which are about inspiration, hope, joy and finding oneself through the trials of a loss or a terminal illness. This contest is open to anyone who has experienced a loss, be it through terminal illness, divorce or an unexpected career change, and has an experience of hope and inspiration to share. Hope for Joy is open to writers of all ages.
1. Write a heart-felt, emotional, inspirational story about your experience.
2. Write your story about how you feel in a way that a reader will understand your experience and feel as you do.
3. Your story should end leave the reader with a better understanding and with a sense of hope or inspiration.
4. Your story should evoke emotion in the reader.
Net proceeds from the sale of Hope for Joy will be donated to the ALS Society of Alberta," providing support, facilitating the provision of care, promoting awareness, helping find a cure and advocating change."
