I first learned about ALS when my closest friend and cousin,
Joy Styles, was diagnosed in 2009. Prior to her diagnosis, I knew nothing about ALS, and I soon learned that like me, most know very little about the disease also known as "Lou Gehrigs".

Joy passed from ALS on July 1st, 2011, and it was her wish that we continue to raise awareness and support those with ALS and their families.
